Since 2000 Outland Camps has been successfully delivering the First Nations Natural Resources Youth Employment Program in partnership with Confederation College on behalf of a dynamic partner group involving Education, Industry and the Governments of Ontario and Canada. The award winning program focuses on Natural Resource Management sector (Mining, Forestry, Water quality etc) as a vehicle to create career awareness and to inspire youth to build personal educational plans to achieve career goals. June 2013 - Happy National Aboriginal Day!

On behalf of all staff at Outland Camps, we would like to wish everyone a Happy National Aboriginal Day! Outland Camps has been working with First Nations and Inuit peoples in remote locations since our inception in 1985. Outland Camps sees the need for a long term shift in our remote camp and catering workforce toward a higher percentage of aboriginal employees. To this end, with a variety of partners, Outland Camps undertakes extensive First Nation training initiatives to build workforces capacity in the in the local aboriginal populations. Read More.... »

June 2013 - Outland Camps supports Books With No Bounds

Following the lead of former Ontario Lieutenant Governor, James Bartelman, Julia (15) and Emma (14) Mogus of Oakville are continuing to support literacy among Aboriginal youth by collecting and shipping thousands of books in to Nishnawbe Aski Nation communities across northern Ontario. They have delivered in excess of 21,000 books to date with thousands more sitting in their basement ready to be processed and shipped north. Read More... »

Outland has a great working relationship with APTN. For the past few seasons we have been catering the Blackstone television series production. May 2013 - Outland Camps Participates in Webequie Career Fair

Outland Managers, Lynne Montgomery and Dave Bradley flew into the remote community of Webequie on May 23 to participate in the Simon Jacob Memorial Education Centre annual Career Fair. Following a traditional lunchtime feast for fair participants, the school gym was absolutely full of community members of all ages looking over displays and asking questions about employment opportunities and potential career paths.
